The rediscovery of Libarna took place in a completely random and fortuitous way, on the occasion of the works for the construction of the Strada Regia dei Giovi (1820-1823) and the Turin-Genoa railway (1846-1854). The current archaeological area represents only a small part of the ancient city, located in a strategic position along one of the main roads in northern Italy, the ancient Via Postumia.
You can see the remains of two blocks of houses, the amphitheater located on the edge of the town in a scenic position, and the theater. Some exhibits are exhibited in the Libarna Museum Area within the Municipality of Serravalle Scrivia, which can be visited by appointment..
