The Oratory of Saint Mary Magdalene is a real jewel kept in the heart of the historic center of Novi Ligure.
Built around 1400 close to the ancient city walls, the church was built following the passage of the Compagnia dei Disciplinanti.
Inside there is an extraordinary wooden sculptural group, the "Calvary": placed behind the main altar, above the choir, made by Flemish artists in the sixteenth century, it is composed of 21 life-size statues among which, for beauty, the two warriors on horseback stand out.
The statuary complex was carried out between the end of the 16th and the beginning of the 17th century, but the polychrome surface can be dated to the 18th century.
The terracotta sculptural group located behind the altar, which represents a "Deposition", and the baroque bell tower are also splendid.
