Trekking & slow tourism
Itineraries of pure and unspoiled beauty.
Itineraries of pure and unspoiled beauty.
Basso Piemonte, Alto Monferrato, Gavi Hills... giving a name to this heterogeneous territory is not easy.
We are that part of Piedmont that already smells of the sea, behind the Apennines, in front of a lush expanse of green hills.
When it comes to trekking, we start from Val Borbera, famous for its "canyon" overlooking the stream that gives its name to the valley, for the pristine beauty of its woods and for the small churches set on the peaks of the mountains.
Here an excellent point of reference is certainly the "Path of the Rebels", a social journey that gives value to past, present and future stories. One of the most fascinating routes is certainly that of discovering abandoned villages, from Rivarossa to Reneusi, passing through Chiapparo, Avi and Camere, touching here and there also the ancient mills and, in the lower valley, the chestnut dryers.
Another unmissable stop is the Capanne di Marcarolo Park, located between Liguria and Piedmont, which offers visitors countless naturalistic itineraries: from the shores of the Lavagnina lakes to the slopes of Monte Tobbio, a suggestive window wide open on the Ligurian Sea.
The presence of many animal species is of great importance: the Park represents a nesting site and an important location along the migratory routes of birds of prey such as the biancone, an imposing bird at risk of extinction that has become the symbol of the Protected Area.
Finally, here you will find a list of sixty paths scattered between the Val Borbera and the Novese area already mapped and equipped with signs, perfect for walking or, why not, riding on two wheels: motorbike, mtb or e-bike... you have only to choice!
